Most Reliable Pick-up Truck – Toyota Hilux
Toyota Hilux was introduced in March of 1968. The first model was known as the RN10 and came in a short wheelbase model with a 1.5L engine. In 1969 long wheelbase version was added to the line-up. This was later replaced with a 1.6L engine in 1971. Hilux is in its seventh generation now. The second generation of the Hilux came to the market in 1972 as the RN20 model. A more comfortable interior was specified along with visual exterior updates. Hilux went under a radical revamp in 1975. It was made to be both larger and much more luxurious than previous models. In August 1978 Toyota introduced the third generation of the Hilux. A four-wheel drive option introduced in early 1979. The four-wheel drive versions included a solid front axle and leaf suspension setup. In 1983 fourth generation of the Toyota Hilux was introduced.
